Joyssss

AG surprised us by opening the car door on the freeway, yes child-locks are in place from then on on the car doors - phew! I got a heart attack when that happend though. Even though strapped in a car seat and all, still...curiousity, perseverance and passion all in one package that is what is AG...she hears songs with really good beats and she cant resist herself, she just dances away, its like those dancers they show in the movies who cant resist music and they wear their payal or start tapping their foot and off they go dancing away passionately.....

AL surprised yesterday by singing Twinkle-Twinkle yesterday completely and more clearly she got the tune, she got the key words such as Twinkle, star, how, you are, up, sky, diamond, sky - and mumbo jumbo in between, but at at 21 months my girl can sing Twinkle Twinkle - you bet I am proud. Vocal, Exteremely observent and risk averse - AL our other daughter :-)

And both of them have a liking for Snow white and seven dwarfs, they like the page which shows the queen asking the Mirror who is the prettiest of them all and then the apple one, where she comes with the poisoned apple and then Snow white "sleeping" both the girls chime in. Finally AL yesterday goes to the last page (its an extremely abreviated version by Disney) Kiss - muaaaah and horsey neigh she says - (Prince kissing snowwhite and off they go on the horse that neighs ;) And they live happily ever after

21 months

And before you know its that time of the month again. Girls are now 21 months. They are growing and absorbing like sponge. Every moment is so precious. There are times I just want to sit back and watch and gaze at them having fun with their Dad and do nothing. But with two active toddler-girls that's not possible. :-) Days are so full on that their newborn stage seems so deep in the past. I know it will all come back to me. Those will be the days when they will be all on their own and you will feel you have so much time on hand and not know what to do ;)Nope little girls always need their parents and I love that about having daughters.

The "wheels on the bus" is slowly losing it. The videos are not being watched, but AG still asks me to sing them and joins me where ever she can. AL today surprised me by singing Elmo's song, "la la la la...elmoooo..." she goes very cutely.

They ask me to draw shapes and animals on the magnetic board so that they can guess. AL is very surprised why I am able to draw some basic shapes and characters and while she swipes the pen on that board the results are not the same :-) AL is also spending time with the seat buckles on her high chair, her latest fascination, she asks us to open then she buckles herself, nonstop she goes on and on :-) AG like Robot and asks me to keep drawing it and she likes to say it. She is a a little too passionate. She like something she goes on and on with it, she over does it gets obsessed with it, then it comes down until something else takes its place. Whether its songs, specific characters or books. She is a lot into books, both are. AL is more smooth in her expression and transition. The one consistent think is AL's love for dogs, she has kissed at least one of those soft toy doggies and hugged and rolled with them every single day since she turned one or even earlier.

End of the day I am so lucky to have them. Twins and especially girls (I cant stop raving about how much bonding there is where family has girls or at least 1 girl ;) Joys of having daughters, but its the parenting too...). I see my friends starting to talk about whether to have a second child or not and the whole "timing" thing. I am glad the 'second child planning' has passed for me. Its extra work initial few years and probably down the line the pinch for college fees hits us at the same time financially instead of one after another, but still, it all makes it worth having twins, and makes me feel very productive in a number of ways ;)  Its truly a blessing, a blessing not in disguise, it just is a very obvious one... :-)

Stuff

Has been tough past 2 days. P was sick over the weekend and getting better now. Kids were a bit under the weather as well with cold and runny noses and cough, but ok over all and have almost recovered. Thanks to all the natural remedies available. Now it has hit me, mild fever and cold. Big Boss is here from Germany so planning to show my face for the core hours this week anyway. We had to view some homes to move into after the lease expires over the weekend so all of us got exposed to some cold which has struck as basically. Luckily the long weekend helped. And its already Wednesday.

Been doing a lot of online shopping. Loving Zulily for the kids although the 2 week wait for shipping is painful and its improving, you almost forget you shopped and you have a surprise package in the mail which all 3 girls dig into and enjoy. Elmo shirts were a big hit. Top quality branded and pretty stuff.

Glad that Apprentice has started, needed a major distraction that I have  been missing well at least since Facebook has become even more boring, the usual/boring updates..

We have been really not eating out as much for some reason. Earlier couple of days a week at least we ate out. Nowadays relishing every meal I cook and not even wanting to take a break from home food and when we do like yesterday dont enjoy it as much. On that note. Craving for some nice Peppery/Garlicky Saaru which I have to make after going home.

Nugget for this week: Pettiness prevails where there is some sort of insecurity.

The usual...

And the busiest week at work passed. Kids also got through a minor viral. They didnt have to stay home though and they went to daycare. Days were full on :-) Attended a birthday party on Satday at My Gym Boston, girls were the youngest and had fun. AL hung out a bit with the group, AG wanted to explore on her own and just kept a close eye on the group. They have finally tasted juice and are having it now and then - by having I mean squeezing the juice enough to spill and then get bored with it. AG sips a little, AL just plays and dosent care for it. I am not a juice person my husband is. So I havent really made an effort at all with the juice box. I'd rather they eat the whole fruits (as the Doctor recommends) rather than the juice extracts (mostly from concentrate anyway). Although I am also not a great fruit eater, making an effort to change for the girls. AL is a bit more like me milk drinker and veggie eater. AG is more open, but enjoys a little fruit more than AL.

Its Sunday and past 10:30 way past our bedtime completed some pending tasks at work. We had a short playdate today for the girls with another set of younger girl/boy twins. Girls did ok. Didnt really seem to be fond of the younger kids though. It is the natural occurence I guess, kids always get attracted to kids older than them, some kinda admiration and basic awe that they can do somethings more than them...

Caught up with my best mate in HYD and my other friend who returned from a long trip to India. Parents got back from their 2 week trip to holy places mostly in TN so mom had a lot to share about their experience. AG surprised by asking me to call my mother so she could hear her sing Wheels on the bus. She gave me the phone and gestures bus, bus, bus, Mom was maha-thrilled ofcourse. Aani actually said Hi to Mum-amma also on the phone. Totally getting it! She responds to questions with a ' yaa' and 'yes' also. What can I say, my girls are growing up! :-)
