Am I stuck in a maze with no exits?

I am walking down this tunnel, its dark, it could even be an open road. I wouldn't know, as everything is still and pitch dark! I hold his hands and walk. I then see this exit, it seems a little lit up. I thank god for it in my heart, smile and take a turn, pulling him along. Turns out that path doesn't lead anywhere. I hold back my tears, turn and come back to the same path and we continue walking in the hope that one of those exits, somewhere down the road will finally give way, lead to another road.
